Hi there and Happy Sunday!

Back in the late 1990's my wife and I took a camping trip to the 4 corners area of the southwestern U.S. While there, we had a chance to talk to some volunteers at a couple of national parks. Their stories made us want to spend our retirement traveling the country and volunteering at national and state parks.

Sadly, my wife took ill and passed away before we could fulfill our dream. But that didn't stop me. I decided to move on and to honor her by moving full time into an RV and hitting the road.

This site is about my travels around the country. I hope to capture the natural beauty of parks and camping around the land.

But that's not all.. This is all about experiences, so I will post on this site the good, the bad, the happy and sad. The beautiful and the not so great.  There will be funny times, adventures and excitement, but also a few dreary moments (I promise to keep those to a minimum)

And Tex? We'll he's my traveling companion, a stuffed 3 foot penguin in a cowboy hat! You'll see him from time to time.

In reality, Tex is a tribute to my wife. Other than family, she loved two things most of all: Texas and Penguins. So much so that she was given the name Tex Penguin.

The information on these pages come with a couple of caveats: First, it's for me. I plan to use this info in my later years as sort of a scrapbook/slideshow/memory book. So I do what interests me.

Second, I try to research as much as possible, but don't guarantee all the information is accurate. If you see something that ain't right, let me know. I'm not to proud to admit mistakes.

Come on along and join us. Me n' Tex will show you a great time!
